If a predatory nation like the USA was allowed to compete against Vietnam in major league soccer, why shouldn’t Russia be allowed to compete against Ukraine in the Olympics?

My guess is probably because the Vietnam War was 50 years ago and the Russian-Ukrainian war is still ongoing.
Imagine the instability and unrest that would be in those stadium seats.
You have 2 sides from 2 different countries that hate each other competing.
Imagine Israelis and Palestinians playing soccer. Do you know how unstable the crowd would be?
