tl;dr its compact, easy to reach, better to use, faster to get work done with, thus more productive, thus includes on thinkpads because theyre work laptops and not silly toys like macbooks.

Why are you guys suggesting I buy an older one with dated hardware/cpu besides board compatibility with libreboot? This X200 with tranime sticker is going for nearly the same as a Nu-chinkpad. also look out for stuff with something like a broken palm rest or keyboard, buy 2 broken ones for 20-30$, fix one, and still have a 90% working one for spare parts
if youre not retarded you can repair 3 broken thinkpads from 4 broken ones
