This is a lie. I have librebooted a e6400. If you have a nVidia GPU, graphics will not work accelerated. There is no way around this and the website lies when it says that BSD drivers work, they do not. Power management is completely broken and you will not be able to turn on your computer 9/10 times as it will shut itself off immediately afterwards. The ACPI and BIOS implementation is also broken so you will be unable to run Windows.

 12536

>>12534
i have 2 e6400's both were under £35 and they were intel so it was easy and mostly everything just werks but the battery level does not show

 12537

>>12536
>mostly everything
yeah just lobotomize your computer and prevent it from running most OSes in the name of "freedom."

 12539

>>12537
doesnt plain coreboot work? i have not tried it though

 12541

>>12539
Haven't tried that either

this perfectly captures the average frogposters intelligence.
>>12534
>novideo gpu
libreboot.org points that out, it has experimental support for those now, but i think it needs blobs
every grandma and her grandson knows that novideo gpus dont work though, so be careful what you buy
>BSD is broken
its even broken in VMs, dont pretend its a working operating system kek
>windows doesnt work
thats a windows problem though, windows is non-functional and doesnt work in VMs either.
>>12537
>most OSes
it can run more operating systems than any of your modern pieces of shit
it can run TempleOS, FreeDOS, windows 3.1, freeBSD, openBSD, netBSD, trueOS, dragonflyBSD, GNU+linux-libre, GNU+hurd, windows 7, windows xp, windows 9X, MS DOS, haiku, AND andreas kling's unix toy OS
you wintoddlers are getting filtered by proprietard hardware that NEEDS proprietary drivers to even turn on, and think that the only operating systems under the sun are windows and macOS.

>thats a windows problem though, windows is non-functional and doesnt work in VMs either.
What are you smoking lol. How is it Windows XP's fault that Libreboot has a broken ACPI implementation? Nothing to do with my video card.
>TempleOS
nope, broken bios
>FreeDOS
Congratulations, the BIOS is PC compatible enough to boot FreeDOS. Big accomplishment there.
>FreeBSD
Broken video
>OpenBSD
Broken video. Libreboot website explicitly states that the drivers should work, they don't.
>NetBSD
Broken video
>GNU+linux-libre
Broken video
>windows 7
Broken ACPI, won't boot into installer
>windows xp
Broken ACPI, won't boot into installer.
>windows 9x
haven't tried
>msdos
THE BARE FUCKING MINIMUM
>haiku
haven't tried
>andreas kling's unix toy OS
GOOD LUCK running that on anything that isn't QEMU emulating a Pentium III chipset.

 12674

>>12673
>wah wah wah how is it winkikes fault
its not broken albeit, it works perfectly fine under GNU
>broken BIOS
ackchyualley it werks, you need a VGA option rom doe, since coreboots VGA bios really doesnt like VGA mode switching
(or just lock it to 640x480 like i did)
>wont boot into installer
well, i librebooted a thinkpad and booted the pre installed winkike 7 up on it before wiping it, it worked
(at least it booted, i have no clue how to actually use windows so i couldnt test it)
>good luck
it does work on a thinkpad doe, go try it

 12678

>>12674
No I mean that the BIOS is missing functions required to boot operating systems that aren't Linux. The ACPI tables are all fucked up and if you are running an operating system that isn't using ACPICA it probably won't work. SeaBIOS implements the BIOS, not coreboot, you should know this chud.

 12690

>>12581
Ohio ahh graphics☠️💀

 12706

>>12678
then why did winkike work when i booted it from my grub ROM?
is it because i used the seaBIOS payload in it?
of course grub will only work on GNU, its part of the GNU operating system, no shit
if you want to boot anything else, use SeaBIOS
libreboot.org will even tell you this
