get a thickpad, not a chinkpad
that means an old 2008 thinkpad, XX00 series, e.g. X200/T400/etc..
the new ones are utter trash, even the ones from 2010 are shit
besides, they are infested with malware and hardware DRM, like capacitors that kill themselves after a few years or cables that break after bending too much in your screen
the XX00 series have shittier quality than lets say a T60 or T40, but they can take 8 gigs of ram and run a web browser without lagging, while still being pretty sturdy and relatively cheap (20-100$)
they also support libreboot without blobs
