>>7018fleamarket, ebay, faceberg marketplace, etc...
boomers sell their shit really cheap and often don't know what the hell they're actually selling, usually because they move or the previous owner died and the son/daughter/new house owner/etc has to clean the house up really fast while still making a bit of profit
>>7009this is a cheap old shadow mask CRT, theyre usually garbage and don't come anywhere close to trinitrons
on a trinitron you have RGB stripes
pic rel shows them, you get a ""maximum resolution"" of 2K or something, but in reality they will have proper sub-"pixel" scaling and only illuminate lets say the bottom left corner of the phosphorus stripe, unlike LCDs where you illuminate the entire red part of the pixel and need gay sub pixel scaling for fonts
its not defined by the dot pitch or line pitch, but by how many dots/lines you have.
on garbage crts you can throw maybe 1024x768 on it and still have a fully sharp image, on better CRTs you can throw 1600x1200 or 2K on it and anything beyond that gets blurred
>i have a garbage crt that cant display anything beyond 800x600 clearlythis happens on dumpster sales too, don't expect to get the holy grail of CRTs by buying a random curved trash monitor you don't even know the name of, theyre good as burner screens and for low res stuff but bad for anything HD
i use a cheap 10$ CRT for shitposting myself because i don't want to keep my 2070sb running 24/7 and waste its lifespan just to view soyjaks.
>>7017>the year is 2050>"what are you talking about 'there were monitors without any motion blur' how is that even possible? they all have pixel response times zoom zoom">>7020also true, you need to find them sold by boomers who have no clue what they're selling, and don't know that retroomers would pay them x10 the price
>>7021KEK, you need to actually lurk and wait for new offers, if there's a good one of course people will snipe it in mere minutes, so have fun writing an ebay scraper bot!
theres a 2070sb on ebay-kleinanzeigen for 600€ or so right now, ranfag wants to buy this one when the price drops to <100 but i want to piss him off and snipe it before he does, or literally anyone else can buy it because i already have a 2070sb and all that matters to me now is that ranfag doesn't get it.
>>7022if you need composit video or SCART, literally any CRT TV will do, but try to get a small one
i can't help you with any proprietary connectors and signals, but you can figure out how they work and convert/adapt them, usually its the same shit but different voltage so all you need is a voltage divider for example. converting composite video to RGB or RGB to composite video is another story, you actually need a chip that does all the converting for that.
