void could have been good if the package maintainers werent massive lazy tranny dicksuckers (they would rather virtue signal about BLM on twitter than update their shit distro) and by the time my python installation broke a ton of packages on my system I had just about had it and switched back to debian
t. former void user

 9398

>>9397
I don't use software based on the developers politics, you never used void

 9399

>>9398
you didnt even read my post nigger. trust me I would love void if it were actually good (i like runit a lot) but having to deal with shitty broken packages for so long left a bad taste in my mouth

 9400

>>9399
i never had any broken package maybe it's just you, void is the only rolling release that's bot very updated and stable as debian.

 9401

what broken packages did you had then?

you don't use it either, as evident by your pathetic uptime

if you don't know how to turn your computer off while maintaining system state, then you definitely don't use void. larper btfo

okay, so you think that i left my computer on for 3 months straight. this is the mindset of larpers

i don't know if you're pretending to be retarded. every linux user should know how to power your system off while keeping the system state. the only other explanation is that you are dual booting into windows like the average linux larper on this site

nigger I use software if it's good not if they support my favourite politician, I don't give 2 shits if they tweet "I FEEL HECKIN CUTE AFTER TRANSITIONING, BRB GOING TO DILATE MY NEOVAGAINA" as long as their retarded ideas doesen't influence my user experience.

 9474

Void linux is so decadent their devs have resorted to shilling on soyjak fucking party

 9503

>>9443
>hibernation is hacky insecure bloat, just suspend to ram
suspending is exactly what i was eluding to. it seems to be the defining feature that sets the larpers from the trve linvx users apart

currently im working on something i'll probably call soyget, its a program to download soyjaks as painlessly and easily as possible, save them under booru file names if they are on the booru, save them under the original booru filenames (instead of 12345 - SoyBooru you get 12345 - tag tag1 tag2 ...), and let the user decide which tags to throw out, or throw out the least important ones, most used, or least used ones, depending on how i feel like, since file names can get kinda long.
im not sure if this is a unix issue or an ext4 problem but my computer doesnt like extremely long file names.

why would i care? its complete and has everything i need
>not very secure
sure, but some JS webshit browser with a 4GiB codebase that allows literal fucking remote code execution and exposes your whole $HOME to any website that asks for it, is totally secure right?

>>9552
i wont get ""hacked"" because there is no remote code execution, backdooring, insecure proprietary bullshit, or anything like that going on with free software
notice how this only happens on servers and web browsers with RCE backdoors (JS) enabled?
because they are exposed to the internet and anybody can execute any shit he wants to on them, ""but its le sandboxed so its okay or something""

 9559

>>9558
you should enable some sort of inline image toggling toughtbeit

 9560

>>9559
what do you mean?
i can open my images with mpv or some shitty terminal image viewer (mpv is better)
tbh i should set all my xdg-open shit to mpv, other than for PDFiles

>>9550
>im not sure if this is a unix issue or an ext4 problem but my computer doesnt like extremely long file names
it's a filesystem limitation. you can switch to a meme one that lets you make longer file names https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_file_systems%23Limits

DragonFly doesn't have this problem
