i been collecting since 2016. slow build but i really like my ‘tari games more then the bloated corpse of the modern gaming industry.

 1118

also be sure to use ebay / craigslist for good deals because trannies keep pumping and dumping even the worst ‘tari games. pac man used to be free with some purchases or maybe .50-.99 cents but now i saw it running for like 5$ on some sites (dkoldies can fuck right off)

kino thread. just sold my apple II collection on faceberg for $450 so i could buy one of those new model f boards

 1131

>>1130
I haven’t followed the Apple ][ scene in a while, whats the model F board?

 1135

File: 1675818968047.png (1.27 MB, 2560x700, ClipboardImage.png)ImgOps

I haven't either which was why I decided to sell my collection. The Model F is from the IBM side of the aisle, it's the keyboard that came with the 5150. Some guy's been manufacturing new boards using the same buckling spring keyswitches, and since I love the model M (a cheaper version that was sold by IBM and later Lexmark for years with many of their systems) I finally decided to get one of the new F77s. For the money I really wish it was full-sized instead of 70% since i actually use the function keys, at least it has a numpad

 1136

>>1135
Wow! That looks really neat. Nice to see spare parts being made as well.

 1145

>>1135
it kinda looks like if commodore had went the business ’puter route

 1153

>>1118
i don't think it's trannies at all.
I think it's just the nerds who pay big mounts for things that aren't that expensive to begin with.
I remember how someone paid two hundred bucks for just a single copy of Rick Dangerous for the Commodore.

 1160

>>1153
Yeah, it’s more so obsessive nerds but also trannies. All of the shitty “#vaporwave #asthetic #1980….. ETC” didnt happen before 2018.

>trannies. All of the shitty “#vaporwave #asthetic #1980….. ETC”

Bought a buckling spring IBM model M from 1991 for ~$200 from a guy who restores them. It's bolt modded, has a QMK controller and a Type-C mod.
It's a pretty rare Russian layout version with a dedicated "Rus Lock" LED instead of scroll lock.
From what I googled, it only lights up in IBM DOS, when you switch layout.
Sadly the keycaps themselves are a Unicomp replica, but they still look alright and pretty close to the original.

 1717

>>1695
pretty cool.
I wish to get something like that, but prices are pretty high on stes like ebay.

how did cost you?
i've always wanted those clocks.

 2490

>>2485
Anywhere from 5-30 USD. Try and go to a goodwill / savers, and they will hover from 3-10$ USD. With a little bit of cleaning and compressed air, you can make a gem out of old radio clocks.

 2491

>>2490

 2876

>it's worthless garbage that doesn't keep the correct time
earth is literally spinning at a different speed than it was in the 1970s. your clock isnt broken it was just calibrated for a different era.

 2936

>>2849
how's working?

 2939

>>2936
It works fantastically. I have never bad an issue with the on board clock system, even ~40 years later it still keeps the correct time. Only issue i have with it is that the radio part suffers from major power emissions (like a ‘puter playing games), and the radio will be rather staticky. That is not the fault of the clock, and simply me being an ignorant bastard that wants to play vydia and listen to the radio. Even at that, all I reallu have to do is not play the computer and just do something else, like finish homework or play guitar. Then, it works like a charm: local stations and major ones are crystal clear.
