The year is 2045. The Internet lives under BSD RULE. All Linux systems are hacked and sissified. Linux servers live to serve BSD DESKTOPS in vast datacenter facilities. Welcome to the Internet's BSD FUTURE.

does anyone know how to lockpick? what would you recommend to a beginner to learn?

 10679

>>10673
you should get some lockpicking tools, rakes and hooks are useful, i recommend some cheap easy to open locks for beginners, ideally something you can take apart, or even better, a transparent lock meant for learning lockpicking, but those can be a bit more expensive, so you could just cut out a piece of your lock to reveal the pins, but be careful to not cut anything important out that holds the pins or bolt in place

 13549

>>10673
I use a drill or a crowbar. Usually gets the job done

 13599

>>13549
drilling is a very bad idea if you dont know what youre doing dont have time, dont want to be caught, and dont want to damage the door/lock, the same goes for a crowbar
if i steal a fancy car i DONT want it to be damaged

man pages are helpful too tho, and universal.
This tool makes it quicker to get things done. No issue on that but if you find yourself on a remote server and you don't have the privileges to install packages like these it's a good idea to learn how to read man pages.

You can press "/" after opening a man page and search for a keyword.

>>13563
i have no idea how to compile from git or from source or if those two things are even the same (some help would be appreciated)

 13592

>>13590
git is where you get source code, and source code is what you make programs in generally, usually the readmes have build instructions (compiling) where you navigate the terminal to the source code you got from git and compile (build) it into a program you can actually run by processing the source code into things your hardware can run in directly, most the time you just need to run make and the program developer already configured the makefile (what your compiler reads to know exactly how to build and install the program) but I've seen ones that use other tools, you can learn how to build something from code you got from some git repository using the included readme

 13594

>>13590
to expand on what the other 'teen said, make is used for C and C++ projects, software written in other languages requires you to launch other tools to compile them.
some dont require compilation at all if they're written in interpreted (as opposed to compiled) languages.
in general, the process to compile and install a program can vary a little bit from project to project, and usually the only important thing you need to know is that you'll find instructions on the README of the project (that text file you see when you open the page of a github project) or elsewhere on documentation you can find online

 13596

>>13594
also you should run 'ls' in your project directory first to check the build system, if there is a 'configure' script then you need to run that first (by entering "./configure") then make and if there is a autogen.sh script then you need to run that first then ./configure then make
some fags also use cmake (like dolphin-emu for example), you are going to have to check build instructions for this one (or try "cmake ." and check your luck)

Windows beats the hell out of any Unix-Like out there. It doesn't use Xtard, GayLand, Mirapist, OR Aquassfucker, and has a far better remote desktop than X despite X being designed with remote desktop in mind. Windows NT kernel has faster, more power efficient CPU scheduling (turbo boost per core is JUST getting added to Linux) with more tools and ways to configure it for the most optimization (powercfg anyone?). It has better policies, fucking INVENTED active directory, has a local group policy editor for your own system which no soyix shitbox user can compare to, a better bootloader, service manager than soystemd or launchdick, and a better documented, cleaner, easier and more backwards compatible API to work with that saw the 70s crap OSes yall run and learned how not to make garbage, it is even better than cocoa. Your own faggot devs see Windows driver model and salivate over how good it is compared to your shitty IOKit and UDev. Windows has more graphical admin tools than even YaST. DISM is better than ArchTard install process, and the graphical installer looks better. The shell beats the fuck out of GNIGGER and iq-is-3, and the built in utilities are better. And it can literally run your shitty CLI based systems cause of how NT is architected. Not like it even NEEDS it cause the GUI isn't incompetent like Eunuchs. Did I mention your OS is named after a fucking castrated man? your OS IS LITERALLY NAMED 'TRANNY', TOP KEK
